11-13 the FRENCH LAUNDRY !!???!!!!

lunch: sushi monster in belmont,
chicken katsu
avia hotel in napa, afternoon small tasting, with wine
the french laundry dinner. reservation at 6 pm, sat down at 6:40pm
the cheese puffs, one puff ball each person; each ball about 2 cm in diameter. one bite, puff... it's gone. best cheese puffs though
.


7:50 pm, first bite of the nite, was very hungry
crispy crunch cone of something yummie, two bites, and it's gone. about one index finger length
CARDOON GRATIN : Sunchokes, Niçoise Olives and San Marzano Tomato Compote
.


8:02 pm .. so hungry still
fresh baked warm bread from buchon. two types of butter, one from vermont, one from petaluma
.


8:11 pm, not super famished anymore
“VOL AU VENT DE LÉGUMES D’AUTOMNE”: Romaine Lettuce, Sugar Snap Peas, Radish, Burgundy Truffle and Port Wine Reduction
.


8:23 pm, still hungry at this point
“CÈPES À LA GRECQUE” Celery Branch, Garlic and Meyer Lemon there was a decision to make, eating all in a single bite? or cut it up and eat small bites to drag it longer. it was really yummie, but small, like 4.5 cm (2 inches) i ate them all in 2 bites

mushroom, broth was good, but not super duper amazing taste, like most other dishes

more fresh baked bread, at 9:13 pm
roasted cauliflower, best one i would love to make that roasted cauliflower puree if i know how. the thinly shaved cauliflower is actually crispy

egg, with truffle oil, and a potato crisp with a stick of chive in it the thinnest potato chip ever
.


9:58 pm
show off white truffles in a box, they let ppl to sniff it from the box, before they are shaved into a dish
shaved white truffle from alba, italy served on mascarpone cheese on white polenta, a $150 dollar worth of white truffle polenta!!!

10:19 pm. not hungry after this dish
SALMON CREEK FARMS PORK BELLY Pumpkin Purée, Black Trumpet Mushrooms, Granny Smith Apple, Watercress and Brown Butter Jus super crispy skin, but instantly shredded to pieces when poked with a fork. amazing taste and texture the pork square is about 6cm width (2.4 inches)

10:32 pm... starting to get full
HAND-ROLLED PARSNIP “AGNOLOTTI” Brussels Sprouts, Pearl Onions and Black Truffle

11:23 pm.
FRENCH TOAST SHERBET Concord Grapes, Pili Nuts and Blis Maple Syrup the sherbet tastes like french toast, a tiny real french toast under it, a small amout of syrup is drizzled over it
.


11:50 pm .. feeling stuffed
“OPERA CAKE” Praline “Namelaka,” Milk Granité and Coffee Ice Cream some crunchy cookie bits int the middle the white stuff is shaved ice
.


12:01 am.. really stuffed, can't even finish that super kewl cake
something at the end, a bunch of candy / cookies thingy
.


12:12 am... so stuffed, and tried only 3 items out of the tiered tray
all sorts of chocolates... so stuffed that i only tried half a bite of the mint chocolate
.
